Try this as an example: electronic beats seeping through the speakers, hitting your ears, bouncing and moshing to sweat-slinging electrifying energy.

This is what followers of one of UK’s biggest electronic dance music connoisseurs, Example, will experience when the maestro hits SA next month on the Example and DJ Wire Summer Live Tour.

The British singer and rapper Elliot Gleeve, a name less well known to the public, formed his moniker from his initials, E.G.

Example caught the attention of global audiences with his second release, Won’t Go Quietly.

His two singles, Changed the Way You Kissed Me and Stay Awake, off his last album, Playing in the Shadows, reached No 1 on the UK Charts.

Some of his most notable work is a collaboration with Calvin Harris and he wrote The Wanted’s latest single, Chasing the Sun, which debuted at No 2 on the UK Singles Chart within its first week.

The electronic dance music master’s live performances have become one of the most exciting acts crowds can look forward to.

Described as a showcase in line with that of the Chemical Brothers, Pendulum and Prodigy, Example’s standout quality is that he is the band.

His music expresses a darker, harder, trancey, dubstep rave. He will be joined on stage by DJ Wire, who produced several tracks for Won’t Go Quietly and features in a multigenre CD for Ministry of Sound, The Playlist, with Example.
