South African rock band Falling Mirror’s guitarist Allan Faul has died.
The re-united ’80s band had recently come back on the scene, doing Falling Mirror: The Truth Sessions at Truth Coffee and Bar in Cape Town.
Faull’s untimely death was a result of a heart attack, according to Eye Witness News.
Band members posted a tribute to Faull on their website on Tuesday, saying: “It is with the saddest hearts that we have to report the passing of one of the greatest guitarists and our very dear friend Allan Faull – the world has been robbed of an amazing human and a giant talent.”
Fans and those who had worked with the band sent messages of condolences on Falling Mirrors’ Facebook page upon hearing the news.
“R.I.P. Allen Faull. I fondly remember when we toured up the coast with 'The Kick' in the 80's,” wrote Dieter Stutz.
“I wish I could say something note worthy .... but alas, I did not know Allan personally. Non the less, his cords have resonated with me since I was a young girl, and they will continue to resonate with me for all the days of my life (sic),” said Lisa Flack. - IOL
