South African born international star Cassper Nyovest is well on his way to filling up the dome with only four thousand tickets left to his almost sold-out show.

Cassper described the event as about him and his ‘family’ who will be his supporting artists at the concert. The family members are DJs, Banele and Bandile (known as MajorLeague), rapper, actor, writer, composer and producer Riky Rick, and DJ Anatii.

Lerato Moila, a member of Cassper’s management team, described this initiative as “an extension of how hard work pays off and it’s an industry changer that will show how far we have come as a nation and what determination and focus can do if you have the vision and hardworking individuals around you”.

When asked why Cassper only prefers to use members of his ‘family’ as part of his line-up act, he answered saying he did not want to deteriorate the quality of his music by adding too many acts.

He also made an interesting point that people are prepared to spend more than R500 to watch Babyface and Toni Braxton perform a four hour show without other artists, therefore he does not see why a South African artist has to do things differently.

He said this is part of the reason behind this concert as he wants to “set a new blueprint” and hopes other South African artists will learn from it.

“Part of this is to show the big corporate sponsors that we can do it on our own as South African artists” said Cassper.

AG mobile South Africa and Bp partnered with Cassper for #FillUpTheDome because they are passionate about what they do and want to focus on positively impacting many lives.

During the Q&A session Cassper was asked about the beef between him and AKA and why he felt the need to respond to AKA’s ‘Composure’ song. He said “it got to me and I was losing sleep over it. I tried to get advice from my peers and even tried to walk away,” but for the first time in his career he needed to respond.

Cassper’s trademark rat tail is set to stay for much longer as he feels that kids in the townships are actually inspired by it. So “I am basically doing it for the kids out there”, says Cassper.
