Durban - After frustration that her second album Ascencion was not selling in music stores in South Africa, Toya Delazy has announced her departure from Sony Music Africa.

Delazy is a multi-award winning artist who recently debuted the all-female rap crew 'Klutch Kollective'.

She says this is the start of new era for her record label Delazy Entertainment. In the future Toya will release all her music as an independent artist under Delazy Entertainment.

Last year Toya took to Twitter express her disappointment that her music was not sold in music stores and leaked her second album Acsension to her fans. Her label Sony Africa was not pleased with her decision.

“Today marks a significant day for me, I only realised when I signed the Klutch Kollective contracts today that 19 April 2011 was the day I signed to Sony Music Africa. I take this coincidence as the beginning of a great new chapter and I look forward to sharing more music with South Africa and the rest of the world,” Delazy said.

Toya already has a single out with the rap crew called “Back To The Roots”, which has been played on stations across the country.
