Black Coffee has come to the rescue of fellow musician Cassper Nyovest by offering to purchase R20 000 worth of tickets every Friday in an effort to help the rapper fill up FNB Stadium for his 2 December concert.

The internationally acclaimed DJ shared the news on social media on Saturday and plans to give the tickets away to the public. He wrote: "I'll be spending 20k on @CassperNyovest's #FillUpFNBStadium tickets for the fans every Friday till the show. "

Speaking to Metro FM last week, Nyovest told fans the #FillUpFNBStadium show had cost him R15 million to put together. The stage alone was R5.2 million.

Has the #FillUpFNBStadium concert left Cassper Nyovest broke?

“The show does not make money. We don’t make a profit; I’m investing in the industry and the name Cassper Nyovest. In time, I will be amongst the greatest although I didn't make enough money to show it," he said.

Other SA celebs have followed suit and pledged their support to the cause and Police Minister Fikile Mbalula also offered to buy 10 tickets to the concert.

Am going to support @CassperNyovest #FillUpFnbStadium am buying 10 tickets next week... Local as lekker Mos

However, as the saying goes: "no good deed goes unpunished", some fans have accused Coffee of only stepping up after AKA offered to perform at the concert.

Where was @rikyrickworld and @RealBlackCoffee before kiernan's tweets? We see them now making noise about giving away free tickets 🎫 for #FillUpFnbStadium because of aka's tweets. (Fake friends)

I'm still saying this @akaworldwide played a big role in terms of marketing pic.twitter.com/Nx30HpDm5r

Funny how many rappers started showing support for #FillUpFnbStadium after AKA joked about wanting to join FILL UP as well!!!

While others reminded the haters that AKA was not supporting the cause, but rather wanted a billed spot.

OUCH! AKA told to 'just buy a ticket' for #FillUpFNBStadium

#FillUpFnbStadium Thread:

Let me try to clear the air on this. AKA is not supporting the cause,he wants to get a gig from this. He wants 1M,
