London - With their leather jackets and slicked back blond hair, they burst on to the music scene nearly 30 years ago before splitting in 1992.

Now Eighties boy band Bros have reunited, with two shows this weekend at London’s O2 arena.

The gigs – which sold out in seven seconds when announced last year – saw Matt and Luke Goss delight fans with their hits including When Will I Be Famous? and paying a tribute to George Michael by singing his song Freedom.

The twins, now 48, vowed the shows would be the ‘first of many’ – although plans for five more gigs nationwide have been cancelled because of poor sales.

Bros enjoyed enormous success during the 1980s with a run of 12 top 40 hits.

At the weekend many of their original teenage girl fans, known as Brosettes, were out in force and eagerly tweeted about the ‘incredible’ show that was ‘worth the wait’.

Rising from below the stage amid billowing smoke, the band began with their number one single I Owe You Nothing.

During the show singer Matt told fans: ‘We would love for this to be the first of many, many concerts.’

After their split, Matt continued singing and writing songs under his own name, while drummer Luke became an actor, appearing in films such as Hellboy II and Blade II.
