Some Red Hot Chilli Peppers fans still had some fire in their belly after the US band’s concert at FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Sunday.
Fans took to social networks to complain about bad organisation. They also took issue over an incident involving locked gates that forced many concertgoers to double back and take another route as they tried to leave the stadium complex.
Big Concerts, however, denied that there had been any major problems, pouring scorn on an article published in The New Age that criticised the running of the show.
“There was no chaos or any significant incident which required us to engage anyone other than our customers in the ordinary course of business,” said Justin van Wyk of Big Concerts.
“The inferences drawn by the New Age article are sensationalist, every large event has one or more operational issues behind the scenes and this concert was no different to any previous concert held at this venue.”
In the New Age article, poor crowd control and logistical planning, as well as over-subscription left many fans fuming.
