Big Concerts have been working in close consultation with Stadium Management South Africa in improving the transport systems for concert goers. As a result, special transport plans are in place for the Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band’s show at FNB Stadium on Saturday 1 February.

Make use of the tips and information provided to ensure that your night with The Boss will be memorable for all the right reasons.

 

Arrive Early

A large crowd is expected in and around FNB Stadium and the NASREC precinct;

Gates open at 16h30. Please arrive early to avoid queues.

Beer & beverage gardens will be in operation outside of the Stadium from 12h00.

 

Public Transport

 

Due to historical traffic congestion at the Stadium, public transport will be the main form of transport to the FNB Stadium. The details are as follows:

 

PARK & RIDE

An extended Park and Ride service will be running from 13h00 till 17h00 at the following locations:

 

Alberton City – R120 return;

Cedar Square (Fourways) - R120 return;

Coca Cola Dome (Northgate) - R120 return;

East Rand Mall - R120 return;

Emerald Casino (Vaal) - R160 return;

Menlyn Shopping Centre (Pretoria) - R160 return;

Silverstar Casino (West Rand) – R120 return;

Royal Elephant - R160 return.

 

NOTE: Last bus will depart from the Stadium drop-off point strictly 1 hour after the event.

SHUTTLES

A mini-bus shuttle service will be running from the following Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand & Rosebank locations:

 

HATFIELD - Shell garage, Festival Street and Burnett Street (R140 return). Departure time- 14h30.

McDONALDs -Centurion , Heuwel Avenue and Hendrik Verwoerdbug Drive (R120 return). Departure time – 15h00.

McDONALDs- MIDRAND; Kerk Street and Grand Central boulevard (R120 return). Departure time – 15h00.

McDONALDs –ROSEBANK; Oxford road and Melrose Street (R80 return). Departure time – 15h00.

METRORAIL

Special Metrorail train services have been laid on for the concert. At a cost of R 40 (return) concert goers will be depart from the following train stations to the NASREC station (FNB Stadium):

 

Departing from Pretoria (15h50) – passing through Centurion, Irene, Kempton Park, Rhodesfield, Johannesburg and arriving at NASREC at approximately 17h25

 

Departing from Springs (16h00) and passing through Benoni, Germiston and Johannesburg and arriving at NASREC at approximately 17h35.

 

The return trains will depart after the concert from the NASREC station at 23h00 or half an hour after the concert- whichever is the later.

 

Free secured parking is available to ticketholders at most of the stations along the route.

 

Limited pre-paid Public Parking

 

Very limited pre-paid public parking is available at NASREC show grounds & one parking area to the west of the stadium. The few tickets remaining can be purchased at Computicket. There will be no ticket sales for public parking at the Stadium on the day of the event – no pre-paid ticket no entry.

 

For public safety reasons - no other general public parking will be allowed in the entire precinct – including areas previously used such as Shareworld - which will be closed;

 

Illegal (pavement) parking will be strictly regulated by the JMPD.

 

 

Recommended Routes to Stadium

 

The following dedicated routes have been put in place for the Concert:

 

General Public

To avoid delays, it is recommended that the general public approach the Stadium from the South via Rand Show Road. Access off M1 and N1 (north & south).

 

VIP & Hospitality

To avoid delays, it is recommended that VIP and hospitality ticket holders approach the Stadium from the North via the N17 (access off the N1 – north & south) and from the East via NASREC Road.
