Joyous Celebration has announced an exclusive and first-rate musical experience for music fans. The internationally acclaimed gospel ensemble will premiere a live concert film, dubbed  #ExtremeCinemaExperience, at selected Nu Metro cinemas from April 27.

A unique concert movie experience, it will feature performances and songs from the group’s 22nd album, All For You.

The film captures the spirit of the live event through the 46 camera angles used to re-edit and master this musical concert film, resulting in a movie finish, high definition  offering, complemented by surround sound, said the founders of the group.

Pastor Jabu Hlongwane said, “This is going to be the first time that our fans will witness us from all angles in crisp, clear high-definition video. Our fans will be transported onto stage – being part of the production and live event.

Although the Joyous 22 DVD already captures the best of Joyous Celebrations’ performances, the concert film is set to surpass expectations by far, as the audience is exposed to rare dimensions of our stage act.”

“This album is really special; we named it All For You because it is for our fans. We are saying thank you. We try to reach people on as many platforms as possible. There is the CD, the live DVD, the concerts and when we are done recording, we have a one-hour slot on television that is a taste of the new album.

"The cinema experience is completely new and different. You get to see things from the performances you would never see live or on the DVD. The cinema experience is like being on stage with the band and that’s what we want to give to our people – different layers to experience,” he said.

The ensemble has pushed the envelope and become inventive in how their fans can experience their music in a concert movie produced for the big screen.

“We are not afraid; we always want to do new things, things that we have never done and things we have never seen being done. A musical concert in a cinema is not a popular thing at all and cinemas are not always packed, but we are not afraid because we know our people and they will come out and support us,” Hlongwane said.

The group recorded All For You last December at the Sandton Convention Centre. “To someone who has never experienced Joyous live, there is no better introduction to the brand than the Joyous 22 All for You #ExtremeCinemaExperience. But, don’t take our word for it, we want you to see and feel for yourself,” said Lindelani Mkhize.
