Singer-songwriter Ma Nala says she is ready to release new music and has given us a taste of the sounds she's working on via a listening session she hosted Tuesday.

The singer, who has a famed rapper brother Anatii, believes that people relate better to music via live performances and therefore staged an exclusive session out in Sandton.

“You know when it is a live performance, I feel like we see more talent, we see how everything is put together from beginning to end. An intimate setup where people can get more from the artist," said Ma Nala.

Ma Nala will be released her third single titled "Forever" on Friday, featuring Malawian-born South African record producer and singer-songwriter Gemini Major.

“The song Forever is a summer jam, it is about love, about two people who find their forever,” she said about her first feature song.

With regards to her music, Ma Nala added, “I wouldn’t like to box myself but I put soul into any genre of music that I do, whether it is trap, soul, RnB etc. I just want to show people diversity and that it is possible to be a female singer that can do almost anything.”

The listening session was a full-on music concert where she sang some of her popular tracks including "Do you wanna", "I still think of you" and Tryna "Find Love" among others.

Other celebrities who came out in full support were Sjava, Nomzamo Mbatha, Tresor, Gemini Major and her brother Anatii.
