The hotly anticipated 'Black Panther' album was released on Friday, and while Mzansi initially celebrated Babes Wodumo flying the SA flag high, the Gqom Queen has   left fans wanting.

Fans were let down by Wodumo's lyrical contribution, as the artist is only heard singing "Oh my word, oh my gosh" and "Everybody says kikiritikiki". They were also disappointed that the song featured the gqom artist's boyfriend and manager Manpintsha — many hoped that Wodumo would use the 'Black Panther' opportunity to release a song without Manpintsha's influence.

The movie also features Wodumo's hit track, 'Wololo'.

I’m here for our local artists being given an international platform to shine, but that ‘Redemption’ song featuring Babes Wodumo on the Black Panther soundtrack is trash. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Did babes wodumo really have to sing abo kikirikiki on the international movie's sound track album? pic.twitter.com/1Uj31dj5EF

What if Manpintsha changed his Stage Name to Zacardi? And he is featured on the album with Babes Wodumo. pic.twitter.com/GnbI7BnWSx

But why do y'all hate Babes Wodumo so much? That's her style of singing and she's been singing like that throughout her career, it's nothing new.

Can Mampintsha let Babes Wodumo shine on her own 😢 pic.twitter.com/7jU2M6zzHR

Babes Wodumo did alright on that song. It's what you would expect from her. Or were you people expecting her to sound differet because it's an international album. She's a Gqom artist, not Beyonce.
