April 30 marks International Jazz Day and one of the locations for the celebration in South Africa was the Eyethu Lifestyle Centre, in Mofolo Soweto. 

The line up had a variety of Jazz musician that are local to Soweto and the country. Newcomers and unsigned bands also took to the stage. Ncuthu the Fam opened up the evening with beautiful a capella performance. 

Philile, a jazz vocalist continued to keep the audiences entertained with her sultry vocals.

By the time young jazz band Iphupho likaBiko took to the stage, the audience was set alight by their smooth sounds.

Miseka Gaqa, a mezzo Soprano who performs with the band further enchanted audiences with her powerful vocals. 

With Thandi Ntuli sealing the deal, Soweto Jazz Day was an absolute jump and we cannot wait for April 30 2019.

*The Soweto International jazz day celebrations were organised as a part of the UNESCO sanctioned international jazz day celebrations by His and Hers Jams.
