It seems like Van Damme did not die in 2016, despite the call for him to be "killed" in Mroza's song. KwaZulu-Natal Maskandi artist, Mroza Fakude, walked away
with a R150 000 cash prize and a brand new Kia Picanto after his hit song "Van
Damme" was voted as SABC's Song of the year for 2016.
The song which has taken South Africa by storm, now has choreographer Somizi Mhlongo joining rapper Riky Rick in dancing to the song for social media audience in their morning ropes.
