Kwaito star Mixon 'Tsekeleke' Tholo died on Tuesday night after a long battle with diabetes.
On Tuesday, DJ Vetkuk, a close friend of Tsekeleke took to social media to share the news that the Fatty Boom Boom star had passed away.
According to reports Tholo was admitted in hospital for quite some time due to complications related to diabetes.
"For the past ten years he's been going through this pain...and it was wasn't good to see him bedridden because he was bedridden for quite some time" said Oskido who previously worked with Tsekeleke.
This was soon after his fourth amputation.
A close friend of Tsekeleke who was reportedly at his bedside when he took his final breath, said that the kwaito star had spent a long time in constant pain.
“There was nothing more to cut. There was nothing more to amputate,” Mjamba said.
“When he spoke of death, I tried to discourage him. You don’t want to talk about things like that. He said he must go. It was too much pain, he said, too much.”
Tributes started pouring in for the late kwaito star.
Nathi Mthethwa, Minister of Arts and Culture Minister, shared his condolences on social media, writing: “We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of a sensational avant-garde of Kwaito, Tsekeleke, who has sadly passed on.”
