Suge Knight wants to be released from jail.

The Death Row Records co-founder has been on remand without bail since he was accused of murdering California businessman Terry Carter in January and injuring 'Training Day' star Cle 'Bone' Sloan by deliberately running them over with his car following an altercation but his lawyer is making a bit for him to be freed from prison because he isn't a flight risk.

According to TMZ, Suge's legal team argue it is not easy for a 6'3", 315lb African American man to hide, especially when he is one of the most recognisable people in the country.

The 49-year-old music mogul is willing to accept home detention with an electronic monitoring bracelet.

However, authorities are concerned that Suge "instills fear" wherever he goes and they are worried he will intimidate any witnesses.

But Suge's lawyer, Matthew Fletcher, argues he has previously represented gang heads who are regularly granted bail, even when they are known for intimidation.

A bail hearing will take place on Friday (14.03.15).

Since being incarcerated, the 49-year-old record boss has suffered from numerous health problems, telling a Los Angeles criminal court judge last week he only had "15 per cent" vision in his right eye as well as being blind in the other.

If convicted he faces up to life in state prison.
