The gown is set to be paid for privately by Prince Harry and his family.

A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "It sounds a lot but this is the wedding of the year and hundreds of hours of manpower have gone into making it, almost all by hand."

Burberry or Erdem have been tipped to create her second dress, which Meghan will wear to the evening reception thrown by Prince Charles at Frogmore House in the grounds of Windsor Great Park.

Meanwhile, Meghan's close friend Priyanka Chopra says the upcoming wedding to is a "life-changing thing for the world".

Speaking on Barstool Sports' Sirius radio show 'Chicks in the Office,' she said: "It's a fairy tale for our generation. I think it will be really fun, I'm really happy for Meg, Meghan.

"And I just feel like it's gonna be such a life-changing thing not just for them, but for the world and for young girls out there because she is one of us, right? She's that girl. She loves grocery shopping.

"She has always been someone who cares about the world that I think she will fit so well into this new role that she is going to get into to. I'm just really happy for her."
