Prince Harry is reportedly teaching Meghan Markle how to drive in the UK, such as making sure she can drive on the left-hand side of the road.

The 33-year-old royal is set to marry the American actress on May 19, and it has now been reported that he has been teaching her the fundamental differences between driving in the UK and her native America.

Meghan currently holds a full driver's licence to drive in Canada and the US, but as UK roads are different - with cars driving on the left hand side of the road, as opposed to the right - her current licence only gives her 12 months of driving in the UK before she must get new documentation.

According to the Daily Mail newspaper, Prince Harry is teaching the 36-year-old actress the different rules of the road, so that she can pass a driving test in the UK to be able to use a car with no restrictions once she marries the flame-haired royal.

On top of learning to drive on the left hand side of the road, it is also believed Meghan will need to be able to use a manual gearbox, after spending years driving an automatic in America and Canada, where she filmed legal drama 'Suits'.

The Daily Mail reports that all royalty protection vehicles are now automatics so learning to use a manual gearbox isn't vital to Meghan, but sources claim it is important she knows how to use a manual if she needs to in an emergency.

Meghan and Harry are set to tie the knot in St George's Chapel in Winsdor Castle in May, and it was previously reported that the brunette beauty has been turning to Harry's step-mother Duchess Camilla for support.

Meghan recently had lunch with Camilla at Clarence House at the request of the Duchess, who has been eager to help the brunette beauty come to terms with the demands of becoming royalty.

The American star jumped at the chance to lunch with Camilla, and the Duchess has reportedly guided Meghan through the first few months of her new life.
