London - Taylor Swift avoided Harry Styles at the NRJ Awards on Saturday night.

The I Knew You Were Trouble star - who split from the One Direction star late last month after a huge argument while on holiday in the British Virgin Islands - reportedly went out of her way to avoid running into her ex-boyfriend on the red carpet in Cannes, France, by delaying her arrival by 25 minutes to avoid an awkward run-in.

A source told USMagazine.com: “It was very carefully timed so they didn't do the carpet at the same time.

“Taylor didn't do any backstage interviews and didn't use a dressing room - she changed at the hotel because she didn't want to see Harry at any point... Things were timed to keep them apart and for it to not become a big media circus.”

Taylor dazzled in a short Elie Saab dress with a plunging neckline on the red carpet and later changed into a tiny black lace dress with knee-high boots to perform her hit, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

But Harry was among the big winners at the event as One Direction picked up the award for Best International Group and performed their hit Kiss You.

Taylor is famed for writing tracks about her exes - which include Conor Kennedy, Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer - but while many fans guess as to who the subjects of her songs are, she rarely tells.

Speculation is rife that Harry could be the subject of her next track.

Taylor has been open about using her failed relationships as subjects for her tracks.

She said: “Well, it's not like it's in fine print but music is absolutely everything that I am and everything that I stand for.

“It's not my fault if someone gets into a relationship with me and then cheats and I write a song about it.” - Bang Showbiz
