The Soil's leading lady Buhle Mda has officially graduated as a sangoma, seven months after announcing that she will be taking a break to focus on her ancestral calling.
Following the announcement, the acapella group went on a search for Buhle's replacement, after which 20-year-old Sowetan Theo Matshoba was chosen.
Theo took over Buhle’s role for all events involving the band.
According to Daily Sun, Buhle was welcomed back from her initiation, accompanied by ululating, singing and the beating of drums at her home in Protea Glen on Saturday.
She will be returning to The Soil in August for their ongoing #ExperienceTheSoil tour, which kicked off on April 29 this year at Umfolozi Casino in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal.
