Amanda du Pont’s light just keeps on shining.
Her social media pages have kept us swooning over her, and her star keeps on rising it seems she has no intention of slowing down.
Over the past year, the TV presenter, actress and brand ambassador has been focusing a lot on her acting, with roles in Muvhango, Intersexions, Generations and Skeem Saam.
Her Skeem Saam character Lelo Mthiyane is a sociopath who is struggling with her childhood issues, wreaking havoc on anyone who stands in her way to avenge her past defeats. Du Pont said in an interview that she wanted the character to be as real and believable as possible, and spent time making sure she portrayed the role well.
Locally, Du Pont has starred in two films; Hear Me Move and Between Friends. Internationally, she was part of the cast in the 2007 CBS drama Life is Wild, playing the role of Serina.
She left her presenting gig with SABC1’s The Real Goboza last year after being on the show for three years.
Du Pont is now a presenter on two other shows Man Cave and Biting About on SABC3. Biting About explores all things food, and Du Pont gets to taste the Johannesburg lifestyle along the way.
She takes her craft seriously, having spent time honing her skills at the New York Film Academy.
She has also had cameo appearances in City Ses'la, A Place Called Home and Mzansi Love.
On the personal front, Du Pont has not shied away from sharing who her romantic interests are. She allegedly dated Cassper Nyovest, he who mentioned her in his song Phumakim, and then they broke up. They, however, remained friends.
Now, Du Pont has since been seeing her beau Shawn Rodriques for some time, and is convinced she has found the love of her life in him.
Du Pont has also proved she's business-savvy, dipped into the world of partnerships, collaborating with shoe brand Footwork and luxury bag and accessories brand Sprayground. She is also currently an Adidas brand ambassador.
