While the cast and crew of Generations: The Legacy rejoiced at the return of lead actor Rapulana Seiphemo (who plays the character of Tau Mogale on the soapie), his co-star Connie Ferguson made her Generations exit.

The actress filmed her final scenes for the soapie on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Times Live, Generations spokesperson Gaaratwe Mokhethi said on Thursday that there was hardly a dry tear on set as Connie said goodbye to her fellow cast members and the show's creator Mfundi Vundla.

“The cast and crew of the show paid their respects to her and expressed their gratitude for her professionalism, humility and grace. Mr. Mfundi Vundla was also present to personally thank Connie for her immense contribution to the success of Generations: The Legacy,” Gaaratwe explained.

“Karabo Moroka will forever be etched in our viewer's memories. It was Connie's skill and talent that truthfully told Karabo's story and for that we'll eternally be grateful to her,” she said.

Connie took to Instagram following her farewell to share a message with her fans and co-stars.

The post read: “Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you until we meet again.”

She called it “an emotional day”, and thanked them for their support. She finished her message by writing: “Till we meet again.”

#GenerationsTheLegacy What an emotional day! THANK YOU for everything!🙏🏾 Till we meet again!❤️
