Shows from broadcast, cable and the Internet are vying for honours in the 66th Emmy Awards nominations.

Leading contenders include dramas ‘True Detective’ and ‘Breaking Bad’ and four-time best comedy winner ‘Modern Family’.

The nominations were to be announced early on Thursday at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in Los Angeles.

The prime-time Emmy Awards will air on Monday, August 25, on NBC.

It will be hosted by Seth Meyers.

The ceremony, traditionally held on Sunday, was moved to avoid a conflict with NBC's ‘Sunday Night Football’ and MTV's Video Music Awards. - Sapa-AP
