• Wild Swamplands, Nat Geo Wild, 18.00

Perhaps the most famous swamp in the US is the Everglades of southern Florida, but we visit two other swamps with distinctive landscapes and wildlife. The Atchafalaya is on the gulf coast of Louisiana, part of the Mississippi river delta. The Okefenokee is inland, on the Georgia/Florida border.

Tomasz Schafernaker returns to his birth-place, Gdansk, to reignite his passion for the local cuisine. Gdansk is the gateway to Kashubia, a region of Poland famed for its traditional soups, dumplings and cakes. Tomasz forages for mushrooms in the forests of Kashubski Park and seeks out seafood delicacies in the Sahara-esque sand dunes of the Slowinski National Park. Revisiting the lakes where he used to fish with his grand-father, Tomasz tries smoked freshwater fish and, naturally, some local vodka.
