Dynasty divas reunited

Their bitter rivalry, back-biting and betrayals kept the nation transfixed.

Now, for the first time in more than 20 years, the bitches are back on screen together.

But those hoping that the TV reunion of Joan Collins and Stephanie Beacham means a Dynasty revival will be disappointed.

While they may still be dressed in the style of their 1980s characters Alexis Carrington and Sable Colby, they have instead joined forces for a less glamorous gig Ð the new Snickers advertisement.

Miss Collins, 78, and Miss Beacham, 64, are replacing A-Team star Mr T as the face of the chocolate bar.

The leading ladies have traded in the wealthy oil town of Denver for the locker room of a Sunday League football team for the advert, which is about “satisfying your inner diva”.

It opens with Miss Collins, in a royal blue gown, matching gloves and lavish jewellery, storming into the locker room after a match.

She furiously accuses a teammate of stealing her deodorant, before throwing a sock at him and insulting him. She is then handed a chocolate bar and, after taking a bite, morphs into a male footballer to the catchphrase: “You are not you when you are hungry.”

Miss Beacham then sweeps in, wearing a silver and lace gown with her hair piled high, shouting angrily about being substituted during the match.

The suggestion is that she too will need a chocolate bar to get back to her true male character and stop the diva behaviour.

Miss Collins said it was her idea to include Miss Beacham in the campaign, which runs for a month and will first be broadcast at 11.20am on Channel 4 on Sunday, January 22.

“When they said, ‘We need a similar lady to come on and be another diva’, I said, ‘Well, there’s only one choice - Stephanie!’ I mean, we had so much fun on Dynasty.”
