Some people have it good. They have to do their best at what they are good at to find their fortune. They don’t have to study or spend a lot of time perfecting their skills, they are naturals. NeNe Leakes (pictured) falls into this group.
Many people would love to look at her as talentless, but at a net worth of $10 million, Leakes is definitely doing something right. Her bio now includes titles like “producer” and “author”, which are all bringing gold coins her way.
We first saw her as just another wannabe on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and no one thought she would get anywhere further than that. Let’s face it, all those so-called housewives ever do is get drunk and try to pull each other’s weaves off. The one who shouts the foulest words is the one the audience is drawn to.
This, in turn, makes you wonder what kind of a society we are that we cheer at insults and violence.
Nevertheless, this was Leakes’s claim to fame. She quickly came out as that huge woman with the pitbull personality who scared off most of her cast members.
Her over-the-top performances made her so popular Donald Trump had her as a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice where she was a force to be reckoned with. In the end, she even had a huge fight with a fellow contestant and it was so bad she walked off the show, something that never happens on Celebrity Apprentice.
While she closed that door, more opened and one of them was Glee where she was called in to star as coach Roz Washington, a role she still holds to date.
Still succumbing to the reality TV bug, Leakes has pulled out a production that will see us look at her in a different light. I Dream of Nene: The Wedding, is a show that will see the TV diva rekindle her marriage to her ex-husband, Gregg Leakes.
Yes, we did not know them at first, but we are now catching up with this couple at a very interesting time. He gave her his name before she became famous. She went out there to make a name her for herself and succeeded, bringing home a small fortune. Now, he’s coming back and she wants to try again, but on her own terms. She is talking to her legal team about pre-nup conditions.
We see how she invites her former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast mates Cynthia Bailey and Marlo Hampton. While that’s great, it will be intriguing to see how the bridesmaids also want to control the wedding and you and I know Leakes is no pushover.
This show has the right ingredients for good ratings because we will also see Leakes go to visit her “friend” Trump, to get some advice on how to handle money and build an empire.
The fact that this show is called I Dream of NeNe means it is about NeNe Leakes and nothing else.
