'Catching Feelings' is a dark romantic comedy which follows an urbane young academic and his beautiful wife, as their lives get turned upside down when a celebrated and hedonistic older writer moves into their Johannesburg home — in a city pulsating with contradictions.
The film tells the story of Max (Kagiso Lediga), a cynical writer turned English professor and his beautiful wife (Pearl Thusi), whose lives are turned upside down when a celebrated and hedonistic older writer (Andrew Buckland) comes into their lives, pushing their relationship to the brink.
'Catching Feelings' explores themes of trust in young marriages, friendship, success, infidelity and the other perils of being young, black and fabulous in Johannesburg.
It also has just the right amount of funny and serious to make for interesting talking points, especially when addressing race and privilege in South Africa.
The film will launch globally on the Netflix service on 18th May 2018.
