Held at Summer Place in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, on October 10, BBC Lifestyle debuted their new look, coming November 20, alongside the upcoming summer line up for the BBC channels on DStv.

First up was the upcoming shows on BBC Lifestyle (DStv channel 174) with Give It A Year debuting the same day as the brand refresh. It's fronted by Baroness Karren Brady, who helps business entrepreneurs at the start of their first year and then revisits them 12 months later. She then guides and gives pieces of advice to help their business thrive.

One show announcement that had the audience laughing was the ninth Farmer Wants a Wife, which is an Australian version of the hit kykNET show "Boer Soek 'n Vrou".

Other highlights include the new Gordon Ramsay show Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours To Hell And Back, the second season of Jamie's Quick & Easy Food and Where To I Do?

On the BBC First front, some Hollywood movie stars are heading to the small screen, with Benedict Cumberbatch starring in Brexit, Idris Alba returning for the fifth season of Luther and Richard Gere returning to television for MotherFatherSon.

The hugely popular show Come Dine with Me South Africa returns in 2019 on BBC Brit for its fifth season. It follows four strangers per episode as they are wined, dined and entertained in each other’s homes in a bid to win the prize money.

Currently on BBC Brit is the hit celebrity Latin and ballroom competition show Strictly Come Dancing UK, which airs on a Sundays at 6pm on BBC Brit (DStv channel 120).

This year, South African dancer Johannes Radebe joined fellow South African Oti Mabuse as part of the cast of professional dancers.
