After two successful seasons, MTV Base, DStv channel 322,  returns with a third round of Behind the Story with Pearl Thusi as host.

The much anticipated third season will take viewers on a journey behind the glamour to showcase the stories and struggles behind the success of Mzansi’s favourite celebrities. Behind The Story returns to our screens on Wednesday, May  30, at 9:30pm.

“At VIMN Africa our commitment and passion for growing local content is indicative in this latest edition of Behind the Story brought to you by the youth’s popular continent choice in music culture, MTV Base. We have a burgeoning industry and talent pool as our accomplished host, Pearl Thusi, will reveal,” said Monde Twala, Vice President for BET, Youth and Music for Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN Africa)

With every episode the viewers will see Pearl sitting down with a gifted personality to have a heartfelt conversation, that will unveil the mask of the celebrities we thought we knew.

These personalities include rapper Jub Jub, who will open up about his deepest fears going into prison, the mother of his child and how their relationship might hurt the son he hasn’t been allowed to see in years. It also includes stories from flamboyant Somizi who will fire shots at Bonang for being mediocre and snap back at all the criticism he’s received for having a 22 year old fiancé, and the controversially sassy Zodwa Wabantu, who in an unprecedented chat will reveal the humanity behind her fame, the passing of her mother and shade she throws at her nemesis Skolopad.

“It was so enlightening shooting this show and learning more about my peers and I can’t wait for the rest of South Africa to see what’s in store for them... to see what’s truly behind the story. It’s going to be extremely entertaining,” says Thusi.

Other celebrities include rappers Da Les, Emtee and A Reece, TV personalities such as Phat Joe, Lerato Kganyago and Denise Zimba, DJs Price Kaybee, DJ Tira and DJ Zinhle and vivacious Gqom hit-maker Busiswa.

Be sure not to miss all the drama on Behind the Story from Wednesday, May 30, on MTV Base (DStv channel 322).
