Looking for love in all the wrong places

Queen Moroka (Sophie Ndaba) is guilty of meddling in other people's relationships but, let's face it, it does seem the closest she will get to having one.

"She is looking for a soulmate, someone who will love her for her," explains Ndaba.

"She has come to the realisation that she may not ever meet him. She gets involved in other people's relationships, because it is therapy for her."

Loyal Generations viewers will remember that Queen found herself in a sweeping romance with business executive Steve Zwane last year. He popped the question. She agreed, and they moved to Australia. But Queen moved back home with her son, Prince.

"Steve adored Queen. It was one of her real relationships. He saw her warmth, cheerfulness and loving side. He just loved her for her. You wouldn't expect an executive to fall for a receptionist," she recalls.

Interestingly, Steve recently arrived in town looking for her. Unbeknownst to anyone else, she did the same.

"She still loves him. As women, sometimes we don't talk about what pains us deep inside.

"Queen is a very strong person and holds in the fact that she loves him. In the episodes coming, you will definitely see it."

On Queen's relationship disasters to date, she reflects: "Many might not remember this, but Queen was once an item with Archie Moroka. She used to strip for him in his office and his father caught them.

"But Archie didn't take her seriously - he wanted an intellectual woman. Then she met his half-brother, Zakes, who died on their wedding day. He was very dodgy, but he loved her."

Queen's penchant for falling for the wrong guy continued when she met Terence (the father of her son Prince), who is currently serving time for smuggling rhino horns.

She then changed tactics by pursuing an interracial marriage with Daniel, a white guy, but the romance fell flat - he felt she wasn't African enough.

Left with very few options, Queen resorted to Internet dating.

"It was a relevant storyline, because there are a lot of woman who meet a man in a suit and assume that he is an executive and very polished - only to later learn that he isn't.

"Often they send you a picture and you develop a certain image in mind. When you meet them, they are anything but. That was the case with Ed," she laughs.

Does Queen still want her fairytale wedding?

"Oh yes, it is every women's dream. She may not say it and may joke around from time to time, but she wants a real guy."
