American superstar Raven-Symoné visited South Africa earlier this month for a preview screening of the first episode of the second season of Disney Channel’s 'Raven’s Home'.

Raven is no stranger to South African audiences - she began her career back when she was a toddler in 'The Cosby Show'.

She then went on to star in many movies, including the hit Disney movie series 'The Cheetah Girls'.

She also released a number of albums, starred as the lead character in 'That’s So Raven' and did a stint on 'The View' as a co-host.

The 'Dr Dolittle' star returned to her iconic Raven Baxter character almost 10 years after the show ended in 2007.

Raven Baxter, along with her friend Chelsea, is navigating single motherhood.

And it becomes stressful when Baxter discovers that her son has inherited her psychic ability.

We talked to Raven during her visit to find out more about her show business plans.

She was overjoyed when Disney asked her to return, she said, adding that she’s always willing to take on a job. This time around Raven not only returns as the lead character, but also as an executive producer on the show.

Since there has been a big gap between 'That’s So Raven' and 'Raven’s Home', the actress said it was an opportunity to bring the character to a brand new generation and bridge the gap between millennials and tweens.

She’s glad to bring Raven Baxter to an audience unfamiliar with the character, she said.

The second season kicked off Monday, October 8 on DStv Channel 303. Raven said that fans can expect more familiar faces from 'That’s So Raven' and more special effects heavy season.
