And then there was two. Thato, the underdog who rose up to be the crowd's favourite, and sixteen-year-old Yanga are South African Idols' final two.

Thando Mngomezulu had to bow out of the competition just after returning from their Dubai trip and after performing her recorded single, titled "Wasting Time".

Yanga also performed her single "Scars" which received a standing ovation from Unathi and Somizi, while Thato performed his single "Blow by Blow".

After Thando's exit, the remaining two contestants still had to sing to garner more votes in hope securing the coveted crown of season 14's Idols winner.

Yanga's first song was Emeli Sande's "Heaven", with Randall saying "Not only have you clearly transformed from the performer that we saw during Theatre Week, but your entire life has also changed.

"Everything is completely different ... the world has changed. And the one thing I can see in both you and Thato is that you have both embraced it, you are enjoying yourselves and taking full advantage."

Unathi added: "It's beautiful to watch someone this young take every moment in and be present and not take it for granted and not let it go to your head.

"I think this is another reason why SA absolutely loves you on top of your talent. This is why you are in the finale. Enjoy it. Keep fighting".

Thato sang Sam Smith's 'I'm Not The Only One" and Unathi reckons he has reminded the entire country that this is still an equal competition.

"You've just reminded South Africa that both of you deserve to be in the finale and either of you could equally win. You spoke to the lovers, the woman crushes, teenage girls who are crushing on you. Well done," she said.

Somizi added: "Thato, you looked, you sounded like a winner. And now I can boldly say you've got it."

Randall, on the other hand, said he can't wait for next week, mimicking Somizi by saying "zaka-zaka and Wooooo shem".

During the next round, Yanga sang "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart" by Alicia Keys and Randall said the youngster had the great song choice, she was charming and had star power. Three ingredients needed to be South Africa's Idol.

Thato sang Davido's "If," to which Randall said: "Thato, there is a really old song about Road Island and places in America that are famous and why they are famous. And I am going to paraphrase it swiftly for you and say, there are a lot of reasons that a lot of towns in South Africa are famous, but Postmasburg is famous for you." This was welcomed with a roar of cheers from the crowd.

Next week we find who South Africa has chosen as the "Idols SA" season 14 winner.

The finale will include a perfomance by the Top 10 and guest performance by rapper and poet Sho Madjozi.
