In the age of Tumblr, Facebook and Pinterest dictating the measure of beauty, it seems it is no longer in the eye of the beholder.

It is now in the eyes and hands of whoever holds the camera. So with blogging already something every Tom, Dineo and Harry can achieve as long as they have enough band- width, one would think the likes of Fashion TV would have to find more innovative ways to keep their viewership ratings up.

But even with the advent of Cool Hunter (online style/trend barometer) and the like, FTV shows no signs of slowing down their pace on the runway.

This week, TopTV’s Fashion TV celebrates 15 years of design and style by airing a programme called Best Moments. As the title suggests, viewers will be taken through some of the best moments of fashion that have been aired on this channel.

Highlights will include footage of the best runway shows and parties since the show launched in 1997.

You can already guess what will definitely make the cut. No doubt, Christian Louboutin’s signature red bottoms will make it into the Best Moments countdown. As will the legendary style parties held in Cannes.

Remember when Prince William and Kate Middleton were the talk of every town or every city of the world?

Most women talked about her dress the most. And who was the mastermind behind it? Sarah Burton, of course.

The sought-after designer became one to watch at Alexander McQueen after the creator of the fashion line died. Now, as part of the McQueen brand, Burton has even been honoured by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala. But the Fashion TV show is not going to be all about Burton.

In case you were wondering, the phenomenon that is the Victoria’s Secret Angels will also be front and centre on the runway. At least that means the guys can also watch Best Moments.

So, from Prada to Pucci, Burberry to Balenciaga, Armani to Anna Sui – there is plenty of fodder for fashion lovers and it can be used as an introduction to the world of fashion for those who have long been sceptics.

So book your front row seat on your couch this week.

• Fashion TV’s 15th Anniversary Best Moments airs on Fashion TV (TopTV channel 452) on Wednesday at 12.30pm.
