#SAFTAs12 kicks off in Sun City

The 12th annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) kicks off in Sun City on Thursday night. 

The awards ceremonies are split over a two days: day one will honour non-fiction categories, and day two — the main event — fiction categories. 

The theme for this year's awards show is 'Our Stories Are Gold'. The first batch of awards will be handed out on Thursday, and the second at the main ceremony, which will take place on Saturday.

The red carpet will be hosted by Kuli Roberts and Rorisang Thandekiso.

Viewers can watch the main ceremony's live broadscast at 8pm on Saturday, 24 March, on SABC2.
