Idols SA kicked off Season 13 on Mzansi Magic on Sunday with the first auditions in Cape Town.
All three judges, Unathi Msengana, Randall Abrahams and Somizi Mhlongo returned to the judging panel except for Gareth Cliff, who’s spot has been replaced by a celebrity guest judges this season. R&B singer Donald was the first judge to make an appearance on the show as he joined the trio for Cape Town’s first audition, but some Tweeps were left underwhelmed with his judging skills .
Donald won’t be the only celebrity judge to make an appearance on the judging panel, Kelly Khumalo will be on for Johannesburg’s auditions, Phat Joe in Durban and Khaya Mthethwa will do it for Pretoria.
On Idols SA replacing Date My Family time slot, some viewers were still unhappy about the replacement of their favourite date show.
Most felt Idols should be moved to another channel to make way for Date My Family and made it known through memes.
