In the last few years, Chelsea Ryan has appeared on the cover of several popular men’s magazines from around the world.
The US model has also featured in men’s calendars, in print and TV adverts, as well as several popular music videos.
However for Ryan, nothing has been more exciting than featuring in South Africa’s Playboy this month.
The 26-year-old blonde bombshell has posed for Playboy several times, however, featuring in the South African edition was very special to her, she said.
“It was a dream come true,” Ryan told the Saturday Star.
“I am so excited to be a Playmate in the South African edition. Not to mention it is my birthday month too.”
Playboy SA usually features locally-based models as their Playmates of the month, however, due to Playboy’s 60-year anniversary, Ryan was chosen as this month’s SA Playmate.
“I did a photo shoot with US photographer John Zelezny and he sent my pictures in to the editor at Playboy SA and she really liked them.
“They chose me to be Playmate of the month for January as a special 60-year anniversary Playmate.”
Now that she has featured in South Africa’s Playboy, Ryan says she is dying to visit the country.
“I am planning a trip, most likely in February or March,” she said.
“I see a lot of trips to South Africa in the near future.”
Aside from featuring in several men’s magazines, Ryan has become a household name in the Playboy mansion.
In 2012, she was chosen as one of Playboy boss Hugh Hefner’s three girlfriends.
She lived as a guest at Hefner’s Beverly Hills estate for over a year, serving as a host, model and public relations representative at the estate and at Hefner appearances.
She also assisted Hefner with projects such as his famed scrapbook.
Ryan said she had the time of her life.
“Hef is an amazing person. He is kind, very genuine and he really cares about the people around him,” she said.
“The Playboy mansion is to die for. The grounds are scattered with exotic birds ranging from African cranes that you can pet to pink flamingos.
“There are also tiny spider monkeys that I loved so much. I would go and feed them almost daily.
“The inside of the mansion is very nice as well.
“It is fully staffed so anything you need is right at your fingertips. If you want French toast in the middle of the night, you can have it and it’s made by a gourmet chef. It’s a very glamorous lifestyle.”
Ryan says she also has aspirations to become a nurse one day. “I am trying my best to get a degree in nursing.
“It’s a lot of school and I am super busy with modelling but I am committed to finishing,” she said.
