Popular Cape Town music festival Rocking The Daisies announced earlier this morning that US rapper and one of the headliners for the festival, GoldLink, would no longer be performing during the upcoming weekend due to health issues.

The rapper's spokespeople released a statement, which Rocking The Daisies shared on their social media pages.

GoldLink, real name D'Anthony Carlos, was set to perform on stage at Rocking The Daisies and Johannesburg's In The City festivals alongside other American artists Khalid, Soulection, 6LACK, UK DJ Mura Masa and Canadian duo Majid Jordan.

The statement from the GoldLink reads: “Due to unforeseen personal health reasons, Goldlink will not be performing at this year’s Rocking the Daisies and In the City festivals in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Goldlink is extremely disappointed that he won’t be playing to his South African fans this weekend but promises to return soon”.

The organisers of the event announced that there would be a replacement performer, who they soon announced would be American rapper, and hitmaker behind the Hip-Hop single 'Caroline', Aminé.

Fans took to social media to post their reactions to the change in artists for the two upcoming festivals, calling the action done by GoldLink as a "Solange".

Solange and Goldlink are the reasons I have trust issues.

— watermeisie (@Mamthug) October 2, 2018 Tbh Aminé is a really good replacement on short notice. I’m not angry. Just sad Goldlink couldn’t make it.
