The Cape Town Band Festival is an independently organised free music festival/expo that will be happening at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre on the weekend of the 25th and 26th of August.

Conceptualised and brought into existence by local band Frances Clare, the festival is set to become an annual feature at the Waterfront.

After returning from performing at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown Frances Clare were inspired to create their own local music festival and thus the Cape Town Band Festival was born.

The Frances Clare band is made up of music teachers who are heavily invested in community outreach and music education, which has also played a role in shaping the festival.

The lineup includes band performances by Frances Clare, Orah and the Kites, Well Done Sun, Bam Bam Brown, The Inside Job, Mobbing Bali, The Poor Princes, The Medicine Dolls and also a solo performance by the lead singer of Brynn, who opened up for Incubus earlier this year.

The Cape Town Band Festival is a celebration of local talent expressed through the best and brightest bands that Cape Town has to offer.

Come and enjoy two days of local bands that are making waves in South Africa and abroad.
