Johannesburg-born singer-songwriter Werner
Bekker has been playing his hometown circuit for the last five years. With
mounds of experience, a flurry of fans and an extensive repertoire, Werner
Bekker has just come back from playing some of SA’s top music festivals,
including Splashy Fen, Mieliepop Festival, Lush Festival, Free State Folk
Festival and more.
Still early in the year, but certainly no
time to waste, the talented guitarist has decided it’s time he travelled down
South to share his fine folk tunings with the people of the Cape.
Werner says, “Cape town is one of SA's
great creative hubs and I’ve been wanting to tour there for a while. I haven't
been to the Cape in over a year so it's about time.”
A mini-tour for now - as Werner will
introduce his sound to an eager audience, already raring to go - the inspiring vocalist has already secured
slots at top venues across the city and is looking forward to sold-out shows all
round.
Excited to see some old friends, while
making some new ones, Werner is looking forward to promoting his new single in
the Mother City.
He adds, “I recently met a band called The
Stone Jets, who are from Cape town, and their music really made me want to see
the stunning people , musicians and scenery again. So excited to jam there for
the first time.”
