It was the mother of all weekends in Durban. The Vodacom July had a record year in terms of attendance. Artists and celebrities descended on Greyville Racecourse in their droves.

Then there were the myriad after-parties on the Saturday night with the highlight being the MTN Fact Durban Rocks held at the People’s Park in Moses Mabhida Stadium. Florida Road was crazy on Friday and Saturday nights with buffels charging down the street on Friday night. It was a tad scary.

Meanwhile in Ballito, crowds flocked to the annual Mr Price Pro concert on both nights after enjoying the surfing contest during the day. Add to the mix all the parties thrown by SA Music Conference, which featured artists such as Thebe and DJs such as Fresh, Oskido and Vinny da Vinci.

It all ended with a bang at the stadium when Kalawa Jazmee hosted their Download party. Jairos gave a fab performance, while Oskido manned the decks. But where was Mahoota?
