SUNCOAST: The Dingalings stage Wed-Dingalings from Friday to Sunday. The Dingalings bring you their antics, Bollywood, Tollywood and ’80s hit tunes. This time the guys are preparing to host their friend’s wedding prenuptials with advice on wives, mothers-in-law, setting up house and recollections of the good old days. THE PLAYHOUSE: Mention the name of the Baroque composer George Frideric Handel, and Messiah – the world’s most celebrated oratorio – springs immediately to mind. Messiah, whose storyline deals with the biblical Nativity, the crucifixion and the resurrection, is regarded as the greatest masterpiece of music composed in England, and is performed every year all around the globe. Durban’s Playhouse Company will host a performance of Handel’s magnum opus at the Opera Theatre on Easter Sunday, April 20, featuring Nozuko Teto, Khumbuzile Dhlamini, Aubrey Lodewyk, Violina Anguelov, and Stéfan Louw, and the Playhouse Company Chorale under seasoned choirmaster Gerhard Geist – accompanied by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the well-known conductor Naum Rousine. 3pm. THE PLAYHOUSE: Classic ballet masterpieces performed to music by top French composers is what audiences will experience when The Crown of the Russian Ballet tours the country. The innovative Moscow theatre company will perform at the Playhouse Opera Theatre at 7.30pm on May 20 and 21. The programme will celebrate masterpieces of French music in ballet, including Camille Saint Saens’s Dying Swan, Jacques Brel’s Don’t Leave Me and Ravel’s Bolero.
