A press release states that Bass Day 2015 was held last year which was a first for South Africa. The idea is to feature the bassist in music, playing either a double bass or an electric bass – the heartbeat of music. Music students from COPA, UKZN, Durban Music School. Embury College and Thomas Moore are encouraged to attend. The evening concert will feature Philani Ngidi, Ildo Nandja, Trevor Donjeany, Ruben Thomas, Kevin Rengasmay, Dale Wardell, Logan Byrne, Llewelyn Chetty, Brayden Hore, Daniel Wilson, Daliso Ndlazi, Rick de Kock,Talent Mbatha and Bonga Zulu.
