Fresh from its sell-out performances in Johannesburg to “heavenly” reviews,  Sister Act, the musical comedy, will be in Durban to grace the stage of the Natal Playhouse from 26 June to 1 July.

The musical production focuses on the experiences of nightclub singer, Deloris Van Cartier, after she witnesses her thug boyfriend, Curtis Jackson, murder one of his cronies. Deloris is forced to hideout somewhere where Curtis will never think to look… a convent! Can Deloris keep her big voice and even bigger personality under wraps or will she bring glitz, glamour and “dangerous” attention to the church choir?

Sister Act features the talented cast and crew of Northcliff High School — but don’t let that put you off, Northcliff High is well known for its extremely high calibre of productions, and has never disappointed audiences over the years.

Acclaimed theatre producer/director, Nick Jourdan, now a full-time staff member at Northcliff, has been producing Northcliff's stage productions for the past 36 years and his expertise have given rise to some well-known South African performers.

Singers and theatre performers, who have emerged from Northcliff High School include: Singer-Songwriter Connell Cruise, who recently landed a US record deal; Carmen Pretorius, who recently played Maria in the Sound of Music nationwide; Samantha Peo, acclaimed singer, Judge on Strictly Come Dancing and lead actress in Chicago nationwide; and Jonathan Rouxmouth, lead in West Side Story, Sweeney Todd and Joseph all over South Africa.

It seems, with his latest production, Sister Act, Nick has again pulled it off with a young cast that boasts a superior level of talent.

The production leads, Pride Mncube as Deloris Van Cartier and Mathew Vey as Curtis Jackson, head up this stellar cast that will take audiences on an emotional rollercoaster ride of laughter, suspense and happy tears!

Don’t miss this feel-good experience and the chance to support this cast who have worked extremely hard to bring the Natal Playhouse a professional and delightful show.

Tickets are available at Computicket.
