The Vodacom Durban July Tent Town has some lavish spoils for those looking to splurge on the finer things in life.

Some of the luxury treats include a Moët & Chandon vending machine at Chaise Lounge, where a ticket will cost you R6 000 a person, while gin and Italian culinary delights will be paired at La Galleria by Florida Road’s The Gin Gallery and Gauteng Italian restaurant Gemelli Cucina.

Spokesperson Bellinda Khojane said: “The marquee will be in the form of an all-inclusive culinary masterclass that will showcase our Italian cuisine paired with a mixology session.” If the high-end champagne, gin and whisky don’t get your heart racing, there’s also craft coffee.

At Silver Ring, where they seem to have interpreted the event theme “It Is Time” as being about timeless Africa, organiser Tanya Cowan said their 800 guests will be transported to an oasis of greenery and organic-style decor.

Of course, if you’re at the races there’s no reason why you should miss out on the Soccer World Cup.

Suites such as Pegasus Lounge will be decked out with plasma screens to ensure revellers catch the matches between Sweden and England at 4pm and Russia and Croatia at 8pm.

Their upmarket lounge-style decor is complemented by live jazz and a decadent buffet.

With major music acts expected to appear in the popular party infield tents such as Amstel Boomtown and GlenLivet Jazztown, the VDJ – always a spectacle – will surely have a festival air.
