Multi-award winning gospel artist, Deborah Fraser is an artist focusing on people in need.

At the moment she is involved in a “Thanksgiving Tour”, concerts in partnership with Boston College where bursaries are awarded to the audience.

“I have already concerts in Soweto and Mpumalanga, where I had a crowd of about 30 000 people, but I was only given 20 bursaries to give to the youth.”

She believes that now can help: “I remember the day when I had finished matric and wanted to study further. My father did not have the finances and I had to look elsewhere for work.”

Fortunately for Fraser, she was 19-years-old when she got her big break. “It was under unfortunate circumstances that I was asked to sing with the Hot Soul Singers 21 years ago. One of their singers had passed away and I was asked to sing in her place.”

And she's had quite a successful career at that.

Her new album Giloria has already sold 30 000 copies in the first month of release.
