Durban - Calling all actors – if drama and acting is your passion, auditions are being held at the Playhouse Company on Thursday and Friday, January 25 and 26, to help aspiring talented performers develop their stage skills.

This week CEO and artistic director of The Playhouse Company, Linda Bukhosini, confirmed that those chosen from the auditions would be given the opportunity to be part of the 2018 Community Arts Mentorship Programme (Camp) which takes place between February and April.

Actors who are accepted into the programme will participate in daily workshops that focus on basic training in a range of drama disciplines, which includes voice production, acting technique, script writing and stage management, among others.

Daily commitment is required to take part and only those aged 18 to 35 will be auditioned.

Actors interested in auditioning for the Camp should book an audition by e-mailing [email protected] by January 22.  The subject line of the e-mail should read “2018 Camp Auditions”.

Auditions will be held in Studio A1 (Playhouse head office, Acutt Street) at 10am on Thursday and Friday, January 25 and 26.

Only those who have a confirmed slot will be auditioned.

Those wishing to audition should prepare a three-minute monologue which they can perform.  You may be required to wait for your audition.
