Durban - All the beaches to the south of the city remain closed after the storm this week, with the City requesting the public to refrain from swimming off those beaches.
The city’s southern beaches were badly affected by the storm with a public clean-up of Anstey’s and Brighton beaches this morning, starting at 8.30am.
The city’s central beaches remain open and eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Tozi Mthethwa said last night: “Clean-ups are ongoing at central beaches.
“Due to the constantly changing weather, not all the beaches in the area will be open for bathing.
“Lifeguards are on duty and will guide residents and visitors to the correct swimming areas.”
