DURBAN - IT’S going to be bitterly cold this weekend with snow expected over the Southern Berg.

Snow Report SA reports light snowfalls in the Kokstad/Matatiele area of KwaZulu-Natal later today and could continue tomorrow.

It added that the cold front would move further east tonight, bringing snow to the Drakensberg, and possibly in the Drakensberg Gardens Road area. Heavier snow is expected in Sani Pass and the high peaks of the Drakensberg.

Temperatures in the Berg are chilly with a high of 10° at Kokstad and a low of 1° today and -1° tomorrow morning. Bergville will experience 25°/3° today and 16°/1° tomorrow. Mooi River will be 10°/-1° today and 14°/2° tomorrow.

One of the coldest places this weekend will be Impendle at -3°.

In Durban it will be wet tomorrow with a maximum of 18° and a minimum of 12°. There is a 65% chance of rain and 33% chance of thunderstorms tapering off into patches of drizzle in the evening. On Sunday it will be mostly sunny with a 25% chance of rain.
