Durban - Sharks Rugby CEO, Gary Teichmann has announced that the team’s home ground, Kings Park will now be known as Jonsson Kings Park.

Speaking at the launch on Thursday morning of the new partnership with Jonsson Workwear, Teichmann said: “Both brands are proudly KZN with a national attraction because of our relevance and commitment to excellence. We look forward to a long-term partnership that will seek to move boundaries and redefine the profile of our wonderful province of KZN.”

Nick Jonsson, CEO of Jonsson Workwear, said they were “thrilled” to be partnering with The Sharks in renaming, rebranding and revitalising Kings Park.

“As a proudly Durban based business we wish to encourage other local iconic businesses to work with us to make Durban a lifestyle and business destination of choice.”

The partnership will see the revitalisation of the stadium and the surrounding precinct as well as sponsorship/ branding on The Sharks rugby team kit; activations and social media platforms.

The Cell C Sharks are set to play the Sunwolves this Saturday at 3.05pm at home and making history this week - with 138 appearances for the Sharks - Beast Mtawarira becomes the Sharks most capped Super Rugby player, surpassing the record held by JP Pietersen.
