Durban - The N2 northbound near the Umhlanga interchange has been re-opened following a collision between a bus and a truck during a heavy downpour at about 10.30am this morning. 
Rescue Care spokesman, Garrith Jamieson confirmed that ten people were injured and have been taken to hospital. 
"Our paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos after a bus had collided into a truck on the busy highway. 
"The bus driver was trapped and advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise him while the jaws of life were used to cut him free. 
"He sustained serious injuries and once freed, was rushed to a nearby hospital. Eight bus passengers who had sustained various injuries were also treated at the scene and transported to different hospitals, The truck driver escaped with minor injuries and was also taken to hospital," said Jamieson.
The road was closed causing heavy traffic congestion
Police were at the scene and will be investigating.
