Good news girls and boys! The world's most exquisite toy store is set to open at Durban's Gateway Theatre of Shopping later this month.

With eight stores in Gauteng and one in the Western Cape, it was only a matter of time till the UK-based purveyor of fine toys was set to open in KwaZulu-Natal - just in time for the Christmas rush.

“Our roll-out strategy has always included KwaZulu-Natal, so we are very excited to finally be opening our first store and introducing our brand to a new customer base in a new territory!," said Philip Paphitis, CEO of Hamleys South Africa.

"The store will feature all the magical elements that the brand is renowned for and will be sure to bring smiles to the faces of children and adults alike."

Hamleys is the oldest and largest toy shop in the world, according to Wikipedia.

It was named after William Hamley who founded a toy shop in 1760 called Noah's Ark at No. 231 High Holborn, London, in 1760.
